Many of my collections are in my head when I wake up in the morning; this is one of them. I woke up with a picture of a shape in my head, I came into my studio and carved the shape out of wax, which I tend to do when shapes are still clear in my mind.
When I had finished the carving, I noticed that the shape looked like one of those lovely old jelly moulds, hence the name. This original shape was then developed into three different shapes, with the other two having hearts carved out of them.
I see them as a mixture of something that is quite flowery and fun and jokey, however it also has an element of love and romance as well.
